The first few seconds on the page are all about selecting an image for free. This is done by making a selection from a drop-down box of items that may be downloaded. After you’ve made your choice, you can download it as a file, or even drag it into a document.

Next, follow the instructions to install the package. You don’t need to do this right away, but make sure you have internet access otherwise. Once the installation has finished, select Yes to Continue (or No if you like) until there is no further delay. As soon as you finish installing, just go to the folder where the file was saved. That should open into an index-style folder named after you. In the folder, you will find a Photoshop folder with several files and folders. Select those you want. Now, right-click (or press F12) to delete them. A warning will appear that says “You may not copy and paste these elements because they were created by me.” So I would encourage you not to copy and paste anything you think you’ll need, though you might find yourself doing so over and over again. Just make sure you know why is there something listed, maybe a hidden link you’re missing out on. Save any copies you find, if your original files need updating, they won’t change when you save them. To stop, check the bottom left corner of the screen in order to view all your documents. Finally, close by pressing Delete Everything.

Open the Photoshop Command Line Interface or Pc. I use this very often. It gives a lot more information than Photoshop and it helps you understand how much Photoshop the software has to offer. At least it should…

The following command lines are used more frequently than usual. Some are optional commands and others are required ones. Please remember, that everything works at its own pace unless told otherwise. These instructions will work for Mac OS X and Windows. Make sure you know what each one does in case you’re unfamiliar, and they are really helpful. For example, ctrl+V saves a file as text. On my computer, this means that whatever I’m saving onto this drive can also be opened on another monitor, and then shown onto my laptop where I’m working. Or, ctrl+b is similar to ctrl+V, except that it shows the selected items on the desktop screen. Here, you can select items you’d like to see in another window.

/p is used to print the contents of the folder. p is usually given after /p * is written, such as *.jpg. The following command tells Photoshop to put a folder called *.jpg on this drive. Note that there is only one path in the above list; we must specify exactly where you want the folder to go. The command ctrl+V is similar for outputting images.

/v is used to view different views on the same document. v is generally followed by a number, such as v1 or v2, etc. *v is sometimes shortened to just @ or hh, and it means to open a new window. e.g. CDV is used to delete a particular picture. The following command deletes a particular file. E.g. CDV /p_file1.jpg will result in deleting the file named *.jpg on your hard drive. When using the command, make sure the directory path/drive you’re referring to is *.jpg. The first time I tried this my entire disk crashed, the second time it did not crash at all and worked perfectly but didn’t quite as smoothly as before.

/p_file has used the place where a picture ends. If you type ctrl+p *, Photoshop will say that this is the picture named *.jpg and move straight ahead to whatever it is you want. If you type ctrl+p * cdv you’ll get a different output such as CDV /p_file1.jpg I’ll get an error saying that I could not locate the file named *.jpg. The command ctrl+b will give two options, one is to delete a whole range of pictures, and the other is to delete one specific picture. The following command deletes all of CDV /p_file1.jpg on my drive.

/p_file is used to select objects in a document. Most people start by giving the address of the picture they want to keep in mind later with the command p_file *, so in the folder, you see lots of photos being kept in folders named things like dg_5.jpg, dg_6.jpg, etc. However, if you want to include a picture, you use a space and write *p* to name the document you want to keep in the folder. Then, give the address of the picture you want to keep. Also, note that sometimes you have to repeat *p* for multiple directories. All the files in the folder must be numbered in order. *p* does not mean paste, it means insert.

/v is used to view different views on the same document.

/v is used to view different views on the same document. *v* is used to show details about documents, i.e. a word count, a total of the words in the document, etc. By default this option is set to 1. *v* does not work that way…

/p is used to print the contents on multiple windows. In Photoshop/PSD, you can define the maximum number of windows you want all your files to open. There are many defaults of 2 or 6. But sometimes it doesn’t seem to work right depending on the size of the file. For example, at least one hundred files were added to my drive. So after I wanted to add 1,000 more files, I chose (a) 6, then 2, then 4, then 8, then 16, then 32, and finally 64. At least 8 were still showing up in the folder named *.jpg. To fix this problem, I changed the settings of #h, by typing ctrl + V I could select the tab #h and click Edit in Photoshop. At last, Photoshop gave me more than 1,000 files. And now I’ve opened all the folders I wanted to open. Not bad really.

If you are on Win8, then you can click on the icon next to the folder you’ve selected for editing to open it from Viewpoint | Window. (This applies to both Desktop and Laptop views.) If you are on Win7, please click on File-> Open Folder, then select Choose Files to edit the folder. Alternatively, in MSDOS by going to Control + N and clicking ‘View Point & Window’ in the top left-hand corner, enter the drive letter of the folder you’ve opened.

Conclusion

That’s pretty much it. I hope this article helped you a bit, but it should be fairly generic. Even the articles that are more specific are pretty easy to follow, but there are some topics as well which will require technical knowledge… so keep on reading and let me know with any questions or comments.
